Carrying Different Chargers are so inconvenient? Right. So here's a GOOD News for You. The Government of India working on different ways to find out the solution for it. Indian Government called a meeting to discuss the UCD aka Universal  Charging Device plan.

The Government of India is exploring ways to solve this problem so they can successfully implement One Nation One Charger plan.

An UCD refers to common charging port or charging protocol across brands and devices with similar power requirements hence India is exploring two UCDs. One is for Smartphones, Tablets and other wearables. The Second one is for feature Phones

As Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi spoke at Glasgow summit of U.N. Climate Change in November 2021. India is committed to reduce it's GDP emission intensity by 45% as India had 22,700 tonnes of e-waste in 2017 and in 2021, India had 350000 tonnes. So this could be another reason to introduce this policy.

Similarly, European Union introduced USB TYPE-C charger for all small to medium size devices. Now India is working on the similar policy to prevent it from becoming a dumping ground of e-wastes.

This may help to consumers to save their money on different charges with different ports along with environment concerns.
